How does she grow so well? A good milk supply and sound sleep flanked by loving parents. What a sweet pair I get to spend my life with! We're not ready to move her out of the co-sleeper yet but the move to the bassinet is on the horizon since she's been wriggling down towards the blanket more and more. It's really just so intoxicating to watch her next to us as she falls asleep and so easy to soothe her when she needs a little pinky or binky.
Here are a couple shots from the lactating mammals group Fiona and I went to on Friday with Megan at the Eastside Birth Center. She showed the big kids (11 and 3 months, I think) that she could do tummy time just like them.
Look at that really big girl in the middle using her hands! That's coming down the pike...
We've been doing a lot of talking around here, a skill that's been emerging over the past week or so.
Pop likes to mess with Fiona. Fun game.
Sometimes it's a challenge to keep her focused for a whole feed.
Eight pounds may seem enormous to us (though it's a perfectly normal birth weight...) but we noticed last night that she fits under... a washcloth.
We've been combining tummy time with air time to combat the diaper rash of Little Miss Softbutt.
Pretty good froggy child's pose.
We had a wild and crazy Saturday night including both Swedish First Hill family medicine residency graduation --congratulations, you 10 wonderful people!-- at the Museum of Flight, followed by our first breast feed by campfire at our friends Ken and Moriah's house in Columbia City. It was pretty wonderful to have her smell like magic baby scalp and wood smoke that night.
She loved it!
She also loves her new hat and socks knitted by the incomparable Dr. Carol Cordy! I think she looks gorgeous.
xoxo, on to week 6!
