Painfully Lucky in Aurora.

If you have a little cabin with WiFi or an insulated treehouse I can rent for a little while, even a few days, please let me know.  I need to be out in the world a little bit to help keep our people at REACH safe but I need some support right now to do it. Thanks.  Please do spread the word that REACH will not shut its doors; we're open 9-5, M-F but moving rapidly to do 95% of it remotely.

For the past few days I've taken the sad step of living apart from my sweet family to avoid bringing this sneaky virus home to those I love, especially my mom who accepts willingly so many germy snuggles from the kiddos (our beloved vectors of disease).  I'm getting the sense there are other healthcare providers doing this which makes the nonsensical guilt of this decision a little lighter.

We've been video conferencing for bedtime stories and homeschool science class (we digested crackers in ziploc stomachs tonight; sorry about the mess, Sweetie).

The separation is painful but necessary.

I wish Fiona and I were still hanging out with Snoop Donk and Chanel and narrowly escaping hind leg attacks from Rhaegar, the genetically intentional horse.

The cake below is my, "Celebrating-Mom-who-is-trying-to-save-the-world" surprise from Fiona (with loving assistance from my mom).  And Fiona's ectopic stomach. And a chicken for good measure. And a demonstration of Wonder Woman as viral vector. And some good ol'-fashioned FaceTimin' snuggly siblings.
