We're back from our Simien adventure happy, exhausted, and not up to the blogging challenge.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes; I had birthday banana for yesterday's dessert thanks to our cook, Mr. Fantastic (Bielak and Brett, did you have the same dude?), and we all had a wonderful get-away to a magnificent place. We suffered no ill-effects of the 10,000 foot altitude except gasping for breath trying to turn over in our sleeping bags.
Happy belated (and shared) birthday to Hugo James Ritter!!!! Kendra and Stin, he's amazing -- totally amazing.

yay you all. and happy birthday dear one. I couldn't remember my fb password, while away in Shelburne this weekend, so couldn't join the many in celebrating you that way. I'm on lesson 8 (of 30) in my pimsleur Italian course, getting ready to say, if not understand the responses, many things in many situations.
Thank you so much for sharing all of your great adventures, thoughts and observations of a world that, at least for me, is completely foreign (literally and figuratively).
Hope you had a great birthday excursion and can't wait to see you when you come back!
