We WILL get into this house! Tomorrow should be the last painting day and today we took enough old pipes, lead-painted and rotting bookshelves, odd pieces of flooring, and WWII curtain rods to fill the front porch and make a huge pile in the side yard. We also found a single, slow, chirping, mostly dead bat. Elliott put it out of its misery with aforementioned flooring. I don't have many pictures from the house because we've just been slogging through it every day and not, shall I say, "savoring" it. But it really is starting to look fantastic. Next steps: stair painting, lead testing, dump runs, carpet installation, UNPACKING!
Meanwhile, Trumpet lesson #1:
Science Center trip with Grammy. Can't wait to take her. Toddler math time?! Awesome. Tuesdays are my day off and I'm looking forward to spending them chilling with Squirty instead of painting and cleaning. Thank goodness for Grammy.
R&R friend visits are the best.
Triple parallel play:
Brass practice with the music teacher?
Nice embouchures.
Drummin' on the dog.
Blueberries and beautiful boys.
Alden and Oliver rock.
Fiona woke up puking several times last night. Poor little Squirt. It's her first time. She was pretty wan today and, though she has a heck of a good attitude and is keeping up with fluids, she's been losing it from both ends all day. Gimme a break: this is too sad.
Here's to a Wednesday where the painting's done and the kid's not sick. Cheers! (I'm drinking lactation tea. It's not caffeinated and feels nice on my kinda upset tummy (no whammy, no whammy...).)
