Some catch-up photos. Chatting with Gus at dinner a couple weeks ago.
Emma, The Birthday Girl, holding gentle court on Saturday the 3rd.
She's definitely 2 weeks more mature but she doesn't lord it over Fiona.
How gracious.
She let Fiona play with her new glockenspiel.
"You knew about these all along and didn't get me one?!"
And let her explore her new pop-up book.
Reading to Papa David.
Reading together is very exciting!
A-bwa-bwa-bwa.
"I'm appalled by the size of these student loans."
Ithaca is finally springing! Cornell campus blossoms.
We bought some magnetic printer paper to make faces for Emma's birthday. We thought it was such a good idea that we made 6 sheets of important faces for Fiona. She talks to them, eats them, and runs to the fridge to commune. Pictured is 2 sheets-worth; we ran out of fridge space so will need to bring some to the grandparents' fridges.
Calling cousin Zach on the tylenol phone.
After naps she likes to raise the shade and say "hi" to the outside.
She's an outside gal.
Bird watching at the Lab of Ornithology.
I adore this.
Yesterday we drove across 84 and dropped Elliott at a Metro North commuter station in Beacon, NY, right on a pretty section of the Hudson. He headed into the Big Apple to celebrate Uncle Casey's 40th(!) birthday a week early. The ACTUAL bash is in Norway next week on the 17th, the birthday he now shares with Fiona, but we aren't gonna make it across the pond for that one.
Meanwhile, she and I made it to Duncaster where Nan is looking really strong in her recovery from a nasty fall. Skilled nursing facilities present a lot of interesting options for curious babies. There are "Fish! Fish! Fish!" in a big tank, a piano to bang on, lots of nice people who walk with strollers or roll in big fun chairs, occupational therapy devices to chew on, and kind people beyond every door who welcome her into their rooms. We're considering moving in.
More to come!
