Oh boy, another blog entry!
We're really coming into the season of sweaters that fit. This beautiful aubergine number is from Dave's mom, Bev Stevenson. So lovely!
We went over to hang with Kendra and Hugo and DeeDee for Thursday night football and found some new things to chew on.
Fun laugh attack I happened upon at the changing table.
Tummy time with mirror.
Any resemblance to this guy?
So we went out for a beer at the Elysian and got the Oasis plate. For some reason (I swear, we each had a single pint of IPA) we decided to give Fiona some hummus. Here is the sign of universal baby disgust.
So the next day we whipped up some avocado with breast milk (a better idea) and gave this a shot. Since then Grammy tried some apple mush and some sweet potato and we've done avocado again with a much more welcoming response. So far the poops aren't radically different in substance or timing. Go, little Fiona gut!
Sunday night we had family dinner with a wonderful handful of friends. Fiona hit a new level of social interest and was SUPER taken with Haven. She wanted to touch and grab her (Haven wasn't so sure about all this attention) and watch her do awesome stuff like scootch around the floor and talk and hide behind doors.
Yay, Uncle Matt!
Haven emerging from her fort.
Oh my god, Nancy, her head disappeared again!
Chicken hand-me-down from cousin Haven. The ducky reminds me that we had the first no-tears tubby a few nights ago. She took a bath with Elliott and was brave, and experimental with trickling water, let us wash behind her ears and floss her cheesy little baby toes, and giggled as I blew her hair dry afterwards. A new era in fun with hygiene has dawned.
Buck, buck, buck...
...buh-GAW!
Other thoughts:
1. Her scalp is less translucent. She must be getting head fat.
2. She made the sound "D".
3. Sometimes it is a big, fat tragedy to have to have a job, even an awesome one. Sometimes it's great.
4. Fiona is an affectionate, wonderful child born of a great race of Snuggle People.
5. She has a new friend from Baby College whose name is Willa. Willa has red hair, weighs half again what Fiona does, screeches with glee, shares Fiona's love of eye contact, open-mouthed face-sampling, and nubbly balls covered in pseudo-nipples, and was born one day before Fiona.
